Terms of use — LinkedIn Sourcing extension
This page covers the LinkedIn Sourcing extension specifically. The extension is one feature of HyperTalent as a whole; for the platform-wide terms of use, see HyperTalent’s terms of use. These extension-specific terms sit alongside, and don’t replace, the platform-wide ones.
This extension is an internal HyperVerge tool, built for the Talent Acquisition team. Installing it from the Chrome Web Store doesn’t grant access on its own — see who this is for below. By signing in, you agree to these terms.
Who this is for
This extension is for HyperVerge employees with an active, provisioned HyperTalent account. Signing in requires an @hyperverge.co Google account, and every sign-in is checked against HyperTalent’s own user list — being on that domain isn’t enough by itself. Anyone can install the extension from the Chrome Web Store; it does nothing useful for an account that isn’t provisioned.
How it works, and why it doesn't violate LinkedIn's terms
The extension reads the LinkedIn profile page you already have open — the same public fields you could select and copy yourself — and only when you deliberately click Save. There’s no bot, no background crawling, no bulk export, and no automation that runs on its own: it’s a one-profile, one-click action a human initiates every single time, functionally the same as copying the page by hand, just faster. It never calls a LinkedIn API, never logs in on your behalf, and never touches a page you haven’t opened yourself.
Acceptable use
Use it only to source candidates into roles you’re assigned to work on. Specifically, don’t:
- Save a profile for any purpose other than a genuine HyperTalent role
- Share your sign-in, or use the extension on someone else’s behalf
- Attempt to access a role you aren’t assigned to, or work around that restriction
- Try to automate, script, or bulk-trigger the extension’s Save action — it’s built for one recruiter reviewing one profile at a time, and using it any other way is exactly the kind of automation that would put you in violation of LinkedIn’s own terms of service, which this extension itself never does
Your account
Access follows your HyperTalent account: if it’s deactivated, the extension stops working for you the same way the main app would. There’s no separate signup — your TA lead or an admin provisions access, the same way as for HyperTalent itself.
No warranty
The extension is provided as-is. Scraped profile fields are best-effort — LinkedIn’s page structure changes without notice, and a field can come back wrong, missing, or unlabeled. That’s exactly what the confidence colors on the review card are for: always check before saving, don’t treat the auto-filled card as verified data.
Changes
We may update the extension, these terms, or the privacy policy as HyperTalent evolves. We’ll update the effective date above when we do.
Governing terms
This is an internal tool, not a public product — these terms sit alongside, and don’t replace, your existing HyperVerge employment agreement and company policies. If the two ever conflict, your employment agreement governs.
